Biography
It takes a long time: Andree Wischnewski has been mixing the clubs of the capital for more than sixteen years as a DJ and organizer and has rocked almost every famous dance floor in the city from the Arena Club to Maria am Ostbahnhof and the vault. But also outside the capital Andree is a welcomed DJ. Throughout Germany he is touring through the clubs and has already played one or the other stage in other European countries.
His great breakthrough, which also brought him attention beyond the city’s borders, was finally achieved in 2011 with his project Chancellor & Wischnewski.
But he also excels as a solo artist, also because the native Berlin local has a dizzying repertoire of styles. Based on minimalist frameworks of dry, clearly structured kicks, Wischnewski interweaves different sounds together. There are dubby basses with feverish housegrooves and jazzy trumpets with oriental gimmicks.
A principle he pursues throughout his persevering sets. Here, the most diverse ingredients such as melancholic melodies, melodic vocal samples and bass-pregnant kick-lines are blended into an ecstatic journey through the electronic sound cosmos.
